Air fryer orange chicken

Ingredients (16)

Serves 1

1 cup basmati rice

500g chicken

1 beaten egg

2/3 cup cornstarch

6 cloves garlic

Large knob ginger

2 oranges

2 tbsp rice wine vinegar

2 tbsp oyster sauce

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 1/2 tbsp honey

2 tbsp water

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tbsp cornstarch

Bunch green onions

1 teaspoon sesame seeds


Step 1

Rinse the rice in water, then cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups water

Step 2

Cut the chicken into 1" chunks, then mix with the beaten egg, and place in a sandwich bag with the 2/3 cup cornstarch; shake to coat

Step 3

Spray the airfryer and chicken with oil, then cook at 380°F for 13-15 minutes

Step 4

Chop the garlic and ginger finely, juice the oranges, then mix on a medium heat with the remainder of the ingredients apart from the onions for 5 mins, until thick

Step 5

After this, remove the chicken from the fryer and add to the pan along with the sesame seeds, tossing to get fully coated

Step 6

To serve, spoon the chicken over the rice, then top with the chopped green onion
