Beer Battered Onion Rings

Step 1

Start by peeling your onion and chopping off the ends. Slice them into 2cm thick rings.

Step 2

Then, separate your onions into rings, only using the largest ones.

Step 3

Pour your flour into a bowl and season with baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Whisk together to mix.

Step 4

Drop your rings into the flour and gently coat. Then, remove from the flour.

Step 5

Pour your beer into the flour and whisk together to create your beer batter, take care not to overwork the batter as some lumps are good. Pre-heat enough oil to deep fry in a pan

Step 6

Then dip your rings in the batter and cover, let drip for a moment before immediately adding them into the heated oil. Fry for around three minutes.

Step 7

Remove your crispy onion rings from the fryer and serve immediately.
