Ingredients

Method

Step 1

Place the mushrooms in a bag of buttermilk and shake well

Step 2

For the coating combine, plain flour, semola flour, corn starch, 1tbsp smoked paprika, 1tbsp onion powder, salt, pepper 1/2tbsp cayenne pepper and 1/2tbsp per peri powder

Step 3

For the sauce, combine ketchup, cider vinegar, splash of Worcestershire sauce, lemon, brown sugar, 2tbs smoked paprika, 1tbsp onion powder, 1/2tbsp cayenne, 1/2tbsp peri peri, salt and pepper in a pot. Heat and let it bubble

Step 4

Dredge the mushrooms in the flour. Fry at 180C until crunchy. Toast the buns. Top with the sauce, lettuce, mushroom and mayonnaise. Serve with fries and enjoy
