Meanwhile, dice your onions, grate your garlic and chop your green beans into 2cm pieces.

Sautee your garlic for a minute on a medium heat, before lightly caramelising your onions. Add the ground beef and spices to the pan.

Brown the meat for several minutes before adding in your green beans. Cook for 5-7 mins until the green beans are shiny.

Add tomato paste and combine, before adding in your water and lemon juice.

Cover the pot and bring your mixture to a boil. Turn the heat down to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

Add in your drained basmati rice. Once again cover the pot and bring your mixture to the boil, then turn the heat down to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

Add a teaspoon of saffron water (optional). Continue to let the rice steam for another 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, cover the lid with a towel for the last ten minutes of cooking.
