Method

Step 1
Slice your onions and melt the butter with olive oil in a pan. Add the onions and cook for a few minutes on a high heat with any spices you like (Ara used salt, pepper, ginger and smoked paprika)
Step 2
Cook on a low heat for about 20 minutes before adding sugar, red wine vinegar and balsamic vinegar
Step 3
Put a lid on your pot and cook for around 30 minutes on a low heat. Transfer to a hot, sterilised jar and it will last for months (just make sure to put in the fridge once opened)
